These data were collected from the 2001 Census, Key Statistics. This table provides information in numbers and percentages of the population by Religious belief.
Religion is defined as a belief in and reverence for a supernatural power or powers regarded as creator and governor of the universe. This was a voluntary question. As a result, non-responses were not imputed but were added to the category ‘not stated’. Major religions included in the table are:
1. All people
2. Christian
3. Buddhist
4. Hindu
5. Jewish
6. Muslim
7. Sikh
8. Other religions
9. No religion
10. Religion not stated
The confidentiality of personal Census information is paramount, and disclosure protection measures are used to prevent the inadvertent disclosure of information about identifiable individuals. When releasing the 2001 Census data ONS used incorrect ward boundaries for Wolverton and Stony Stratford wards. Figures for these two wards have been adjusted by MKC to reflect the correct boundaries.
