Level 2 and 3 attainment by 19 yr olds (2006/7-2011/12) – Local Education Authorities ( PE200 )

The following table shows the proportion of 19 yr olds reaching the level 2 and 3 thresholds, split by local authority. A learner is defined as having reached the level 2 threshold if they have achieved 5 GCSEs at grades A*-C or equivalent. No ‘thin’ VRQs count towards the target yet – DCSF are yet to look at how they might change the definition (and no mention of English and Maths yet either). A learner is defined as having reached the level 3 threshold if they have achieved the equivalent of 4 AS / 2 A-levels. Thin VRQs do not count towards the target.
