Dwelling Type and Accommodation Type by Tenure (S050): Milton Keynes, England and Wales ( JDS050C )

This is one of the set of standard tables produced from the 2001 Census. This table provides information in numbers and percentages on Dwelling type and Accommodation type by Tenure. The tenure of a household is derived from the response to the question asking whether the household owns or rents its accommodation and, if rented, from the response to the question asking who is the landlord. A household was defined as one person living alone, or a group of people (not necessarily related) living at the same address with common housekeeping – that is, sharing either a living room or sitting room or at least one meal a day. Owner Occupied includes accommodation that is either owned outright, owned with a mortgage or loan, or shared ownership (paying part rent and part mortgage). Private Rented includes accommodation that is rented from a private landlord or letting agency, employer of a household member, relative or friend of a household member, or other non Social rented. Social Rented includes accommodation that is rented from a council or a Housing Association, Housing Co-operative, Charitable Trust, Non-profit housing company or Registered Social Landlord. Other includes employer of a household member and relative or friend of a household member and living rent free.
