Local Highway Maintenance EqIA

This project is a significant project and is likely to be relevant for women, people with disabilities, and young people. As part of the project, the upgrading of path and cycle ways will require the design to be appropriate for the using of different users. In particular, inclusive design can support the use by people with disabilities and cyclists.

Poor highways especially in isolated areas can increase the possibility that certain highway users’ vehicles breakdown with the associated concerns for safety. This can be addressed by improved maintenance of the highway. The project will be expected to commit to monitor and evaluate the impact of the scheme once implemented. As part of the application process the likely benefits have been outlined and how these will be measured and reported.
