O2C ARC: Districts, Wards – Marital Status (KS04) ( JD042C )

These data were obtained from the 2001 Census, Key Statistics. The table provides information in numbers and percentages on population by Marital Status. The concept of marital status applies to the conjugal arrangements of a person. It includes persons who are living together as husband and wife, regardless of whether they are legally married or in a common-law relationship. The statement living together implies that both persons in the relationship live in the same household. In the majority of cases this is true, but also included are couples who are temporarily separated for work-related reasons or couples temporarily separated because one is institutionalised for a short term.
